What the service is
stepcalculator.co provides free calculators, reference tables and guides about walking distance, time, step length and walking energy. Every result is an arithmetic estimate produced from the values you enter and the stated assumptions. The service is provided for general information and is not medical, health, fitness, nutritional or professional advice.
By using the site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
Accuracy and your responsibility
We take care to keep formulas, constants and sources correct and we publish the method behind every tool. Even so, an estimate can differ from your real walk because step length, pace, terrain and individual physiology vary. You are responsible for how you use any result, and you should not rely on an estimate where an error could affect your health or safety.
We may change, suspend or remove any part of the site at any time and do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
Permitted use and content
You may use the site for personal, non-commercial purposes and quote short extracts with a link to the source page. You may not copy substantial parts of the site, republish the guides, scrape the site with automated tools, attempt to disrupt it, or use it in a way that breaks the law.
The text, design, tables and code that make up the site are the property of its operator unless stated otherwise. Unit conversion factors and published activity values referenced on the methodology page belong to their respective sources.
Contributions
If you send us a message, pitch or draft, you confirm that it is your own work, that it does not infringe anyone’s rights, and that we may publish, edit, shorten or decline it. Any fee or other terms for a commissioned guide apply only if agreed in writing before the work is written.
Liability and changes
